why worried being considered "noobish"? have prove anyone? unless code sample job or university interview, don't worry this. if is, have argument present.
languages have worked in far? memory management model there? why want same or different now?
have spent time retain/release? it's not *that* arse with.
know compromise you're making in terms of amortized performance hit @ unknowable schedule? acceptable app? (this isn't serious, gc unknown beast)
sure never want move code ipad or iphone? don't support gc.
things consider. if want use it, go ahead. worst case change mind , rewrite things.
