i using e-ink sony readers since first 1 (prs-500) released. these readers worked great single use devices me quite awhile.
last device had sony daily reader. used at&t downloads, useful touchscreen, got daily ny post subscription delivered every morning lunch reading. had full reading library on go in nice small package. great device except @ night when had break out book light illuminate top half of screen. night reading not fun. overall ipod books, loved concept.
came ipad announcement. skeptical....like many thought big ipod touch. closer launch more read through forums, watching few youtubes on do, surely getting sold. reader does, plus sooo more. high resolution photos, incredible internet experience, instant on unlike windlows laptop, no longer tied sony epub, open world kindle books well...... felt....hmmmm sell daily reader , halfway there on funds....i've got little hobby money. ended ebaying sony reader end night before ipad launch had ipad reserved , plans there saturday morning before headed out mothers in pa easter.
had gotten 64 gig , disappointed screen issues, light leaking badly on 1 after other....the reps verified every time not out of mind , being nitpicky.....it bad helpful replacing, when 3g came out, asked upgrade on last exchange seems had done job.....
bottom line ipad advertised. has been hoped be, , have been loving experience. it's ebook reader, mobile web browser, mobile word processor, great long emails, on top of have high quality video, youtube....this incredible device....i happy made investment, has been worth every dime.

i bought mine on day 1 , have not doubted or regretted purchase 1 second. each day find new , wonderful ways use incredible device. don't remember life before , don't want to.
