so i'm in market new laptop after current windows machine decided hilarious make random noises through headphones consistently, mic input dying. fact battery lasts 40 minutes after year , half pushed me on edge.
looked while @ different windows laptops, i3 processors , culv's, couldn't find laptop mixture of power , battery life. had problem laptops both i3 , decent batteries, timeline x series acer looks business laptop , has poor build quality.
receive apple education discount, question is:
should go mbp 13'', refreshed mb 13'', or try , grab older mbp switchable graphics cheaper price ? sound of 9400/9600 15'' model, reservation battery life know 2010 models have improved significantly.

do have budget constraints? processor intensive activities?
because, if budget issue, soon-to-be-updated macbook looks quite nice deal. 7 hours of battery life sure sounds nice compared 3 hours or i'm getting now. though 10 hours you'd 13 inch mbp sounds too.
older 15 if wanted larger screen. kinds of things do, switchable graphics not important consideration. that's me though.
