this on new 2010 mbps. may behavior prior mbps though.
when drag something, window or icon, , release finger trackpad set in place, if finger promptly touches down on trackpad again can proceed other tasks, dragged object remains in focus , continues being dragged. found have artificially force myself wait full second before resume contact trackpad without continuing object-drag.
there way configure differently, either within osx or freeware program?

similar behaviour this:- if double-tap drag on text, text in box, release trackpad, press backspace key quickly, highlight remains, highlighting next bit of text. if wait bit longer (half second?) before pressing delete doesn't happen.
behaviour occurs in safari , mail. in word 2008 ignores quick delete key press.
think it's same behaviour spotted op - built in delay before "finger up" registered. it's annoying.
2009 umbp snow leopard shows behaviour. 2006 mbp leopard not.
can suggest fix?
