i've had time work on major update of mkvtools , since know there few users in forum, thought i'd see if there requests improvements. i've incorporated of commonly requested features in latest beta:
so don't need request of above. since don't have apple tv, i'm guessing @ needs (e.g., soft subtitles useful?). if see else added while have window of time available programming, let me know either in post or @ emmgunnbeta@gmail.com. i'll tallying requests, unless need clarification won't hear me.
- mkvtools accepts type of video file mencoder can process (avi, mp4, ... not video_ts folders). so, example, can convert avi file use on atv.
- 5.1 ac3 , 5.1 dts converted 5.1 aac. mkvtools used mux 5.1 ac3 audio file hoped playable atv's never sure if worked guys. more successful.
- you can "burn" external subtitle files output.
- improved presets in "quick conversion" box 1 button conversions mkvtools guesses @ best settings selected output hardware (divx dvd players, ipod, apple tv, ps3 now).
also, if have time , want mkvtools useful you, feel free send feedback beta emmgunnbeta@gmail.com. old registration code still work of betas once final update released. big apple tv question have whether or not trick of changing avc profile level 4.1 works ps3 , xbox. cheers , in advance feedback.

mkv dealing last night had 3 audio tracks (english 5.1, japanese 5.1, english 2.0). chose japanese 5.1 , 'aac' instead of pass-through, chose subtitle track, , chose 1 video track.
there 1 problem when done...i hear audio through left speaker on both mac , ps3.
can more audio options added, handbrake's drop-down? i'll try beta on same file see if changes fix it.
