ADC to DVI or ADC to mini display adapter

i have old display i'm trying use second screen. it's adc, need female adc male dvi or mini display adapter.

now, i'm biting bullet , realize i'll have shell out @ least 100 bucks, there option other official apple option?

know i'll need external power, , it'll bulky. that's not problem. problem (as can see in comments in link) apple adapter doesn't let display go sleep, , that's no me.

so, i'm asking more in know am. other options? i'm willing spend little more money if have to give display rest when i'm not using it.

 

i'm pretty sure apple dvi adc adapter 1 out there using adc display dvi video card. spent lot of time looking year ago when bought macpro , decided keep using adc display. apple adapter 1 find , i'm sure there haven't been new solutions introduced in meantime.
