Disable yellow tooltip boxes in Word 2008?

this driving me nuts. i'm working 400 page document have change styles. when i'm scrolling through list, huge styles tooltip hoverboxes pop up. obscure 3 or 4 style options @ time, have scroll farther necessary see them.

i've searched words' preferences, can't find out disable tooltips. can me out? know basic question, appreciate help!

 

in word > preferences > view have style area width: ?
