SSD Degradation over an extended period of time

hey everyone, keep seeing posts how ssds degrade on first week/two after using ssd (one comes mbp). however, how degrade after...say....6 months-1 year (or longer)? know still new hardware, i'm sure people have idea. significant of speed , performance decrease?
