first post hope i'm doing right. there clues on question in other topics, there not real topic this.
have canon hf200 , video's come of standard mts files. 1080i 25fps, or 50i.
with imovie09 make .mov files out of them. if try edit files in premiere or after effects. playback becomes laggy. have mpeg streamclip pro, what best format convert .mov's to keep quality possible make easy edit videos. eventually want vids play on youtube on hd 1080 if possible.

imovie 09 converting footage aic (apple intermediate codec). i'm not sure how premiere , after effects codec.
kind of computer using edit. specs?
